Williamsburg Trifecta Tour
April 27 - 30, 2023
Our spring conference will be based in Williamsburg, Virginia. It’s called the Trifecta Tour because we will focus on three different conflicts: the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and World War II. We will visit the Yorktown battlefield of the Revolutionary War, and will also visit sites associated with the Civil War Battle of Williamsburg. We will also spend a day visiting the MacArthur Memorial and the USS Wisconsin. Finally, on Sunday, we will visit Fortress Monroe.
Vicksburg
July 26-30, 2023
The summer conference will be a deep dive into the Campaign and Battle of Vicksburg. Led by the preeminent scholar on the subject, Prof. Timothy B. Smith, we will visit sites associated with both the campaign and the battle. On Sunday, we will wind up the conference with a visit to the USS Cairo, which was one of the pet projects of Ed Bearss.
Early's Invasion
October 19-22, 2023
The fall conference will focus on Jubal Early’s invasion of Maryland in the summer of 1864, as well as the burning of Chambersburg, and the subsequent Battle of Moorefield. We will visit the Monocacy battlefield for an in-depth tour, followed by a visit to Fort Stevens, which was the high water mark of the campaign. Scott Patchan, who is the authority on actions in the Shenandoah Valley in the summer of 1864, will be our guide for what promises to be a terrific event.
